Lootable collects and uses information to run a safer local marketplace, support messaging and listings, improve trust systems, and protect users and the service.

Information we collect
- Account data such as name, username, email address, and credentials handled by our authentication providers.
- Profile data such as avatar, bio, city, state, account intent, preferences, and verification indicators.
- Marketplace data such as listings, sale events, messages, offers, favorites, saved searches, reviews, reports, blocks, and proof photos.
- Usage and device data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, timestamps, referrer information, and approximate location data.
- Billing-related data for paid features, generally through third-party processors rather than storing full payment card details ourselves.
How we use information
- Operate, maintain, and improve the marketplace and Local Sales features.
- Authenticate users, secure accounts, and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and unsafe conduct.
- Display public profile and listing information to other users where necessary to run the product.
- Send transactional notices, alerts, security messages, and service communications.
- Measure performance, understand usage, rank content, and develop new features.
Public and user-visible information
Some information is meant to be visible to other users, including parts of your public profile, listings, local sale events, reviews, and certain trust or activity signals. Do not place sensitive personal information in public fields or media uploads unless it is required and you are comfortable sharing it.
Why we process information
Depending on where you live, we process information to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate marketplace and safety interests, comply with legal obligations, protect users and the service, and, where applicable, based on consent.
How we share information
- With other users when necessary to support listings, sale events, messages, reviews, and trust signals.
- With service providers that host infrastructure, send email, process payments, provide storage, support moderation, or help us secure and improve the service.
- With regulators, courts, law enforcement, insurers, or advisers where required by law or reasonably necessary to enforce rights, investigate misuse, or protect people and property.
- In connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.
Cookies, local storage, analytics, and advertising
We use cookies, local storage, and similar tools to keep you signed in, remember preferences, recover drafts, measure performance, and operate core platform features.
We do not knowingly sell personal information for money. If we enable advertising or measurement tools that qualify as targeted advertising or sharing under applicable privacy laws, we may provide additional disclosures or rights where legally required.
Retention
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the platform, administer accounts, maintain records, resolve disputes, comply with law, and protect marketplace integrity and user safety.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights and choices
- You may access and update certain account and profile information through your settings.
- You may request deletion or export where available and subject to legal exceptions.
- You may unsubscribe from non-essential marketing emails using the link in those messages.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, object, restrict, or request portability of certain personal information.
- California residents may have additional privacy rights, subject to applicable exceptions.
Children
Lootable is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice. Privacy requests and questions can be sent to privacy@lootable.io.
